Understanding HIV & STIs

Initial Flu-like Symptoms

Some individuals may experience a brief period of flu-like symptoms, including fatigue, fever, and sore throat, within 2 to 4 weeks of exposure.

Chronic Fatigue & Weight Loss

Unexplained weight loss, persistent fatigue, and recurring fevers can be signs of a more advanced stage of HIV infection.

Swollen Lymph Nodes

Swollen lymph nodes, particularly in the neck, armpits, or groin, are a common early indicator of the body's immune response to the virus.

Unusual Skin Rashes

Unusual skin rashes or persistent skin lesions can be a symptom of various STIs and should be discussed with a healthcare provider.

PrEP & PEP: Your Shield

PrEP and PEP are powerful tools in the fight against HIV. PrEP is a daily medication that prevents HIV infection, while PEP is an emergency treatment that can stop HIV from establishing a permanent infection if taken within 72 hours of exposure. We provide confidential counseling and access to these life-saving medications to help protect our community.
